Bioré UV AQUA Rich Watery Essence SPF 50+ PA++++

You've probably seen this sunscreen mentioned on almost every asian skincare blog by now and if you've had a chance to try it out, you'd understand why it's been so hyped up. I was first using the brand's Watery Gel and liked it very much, so I decided to give the Watery Essence a try too. They've both been reformulated since, so I'm not sure if this review is very useful, but at the same time I don't think they've managed to change the formula to a point where everyone who tries it hates it.

The Bioré UV AQUA Rich Watery Essence SPF 50+ PA++++ comes in a small sky-blue squeezy tube and contains 50 g of product. The sunscreen has a slight yellow tint but applies and dries to a transparent finish on the skin. There is no white cast and the dry time is minimal (between 5-10 minutes).
The product itself feels exactly like the name they chose to describe it - a watery essence; lightweight, spreads easily without piling or crumbling and acts like a primer on the skin. It's hard to look past the strong alcohol fragrance, but it quickly dissipates and as the product dries on the skin it leaves an almost soft-to-the-touch, powdery satin finish, but compared to some other sunscreens I've used in the past this finish is almost traceless and even less noticeable compared to the Watery Gel. I find it to be a reliable source for daily sun protection and wear under makeup - if you're going camping or like to enjoy holidays by the sea side you might want to look for something declared as having a waterproof formula. Despite the strong alcohol fragrance I don't find it to have a drying effect on my oily skin and it doesn't make me excessively oily. If your skin is dry it could be a different story.

I think it's also priced alright considering how cosmetically elegant the formula is and I will look to buy a reformulated version to try once I use it up and see if they've really made the formula that much more worse. I bought mine off of Ebay (if you plan on ordering one, make sure you're getting it from a reputable seller).
Have you tried it before or happen to have any thoughts on the reformulated version? Let me know in the comments.
