Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer

Rihanna's beauty line launch caused quite a stir in the beauty community and after having a quick browse at Sephora I decided to try out her only lip product that was available at the time - Gloss Bomb, a 'universally flattering' lip gloss. I visited the store on the day of the launch and the shelves only had samples left (except for some dual highlighters), so I actually had to come back a couple days later, to find that corner of the store less crowded and easier to access.
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer comes in a transparent tube with a reflexive silver lid and contains 9 ml of product. I really like the overall design and packaging of the whole line in general. This lip gloss comes with an unusually large applicator for a lip product, which is cut at an angle and reminds me of the applicator for the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. The Gloss Bomb has a rose golden tint with reflexive, mostly golden, tiny sparkles inside, but it applies to the lips fairly sheer, mainly adding a glossy luminous wet sheen and a look of slightly fuller lips. I don't find the amount of sparkle over the top and find it very appropriate for everyday wear.
The size of the applicator can make it easy to apply too much, so I tend to wipe some of it off on the edge of the opening of the tube before taking the applicator to the lips. The gloss has a lovely smooth texture which isn't thick or gloopy and it also doesn't feel sticky on the lips. It almost feels like a gel type gloss and you can definitely feel it on the lips. It smells really delicious - fruity with a hint of vanilla, but has no flavour. One of the ingredients it contains is shea butter, which helps condition and soften the lips. The lasting power isn't the best and stays put up to 4 hours - it easily transfers to a glass or cup when drinking and disappears when eating, leaving a thin balm-like layer behind.

Overall, I do really like this product but if you're not a person who's into glossy lips you could end up being a bit disappointed - it is 'just a lip gloss' and it's very likely that you could find something comparable for a much smaller price at the drugstore.
The Fenty Beauty by Rihanna makeup line is available exclusively at Sephora and from their website.
