The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil

I've been using some products from The Ordinary for close to a year now, so it's about time I write a review on one I've been using the most - their 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil.

My skin is oily and acne-prone, so for the longest time I stayed away from anything that contained oils, and applying a facial oil seemed like the biggest mistake one could do. Oh, how wrong was I! The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil comes in a minimalistic brown UV-protective glass bottle with a dropper applicator that has been working great so far. It contains 30 ml of product. I'm sure you've all heard of the brand by now, so I won't clog this post about the philosophy behind their products. This rose hip oil is cold-pressed and organic, which helps preserve the quality of the product and it's beneficial properties - mainly helping to reduce signs of photo-aging. The oil itself has a natural yellowish/orange tint to it, but it applies transparent to the skin. I've used a rose hip oil from a different brand before, and find this one to have a slightly thicker but still light, runny, consistency and a more natural scent (not unpleasant at all).
I try to apply it daily at nighttime and usually use 3 drops - if I use 4 it sometimes feels 'too oily'. It sinks into the skin really fast, providing nourishment and hydration while making the skin feel soft, velvety smooth and adding a glow and plumpness that is visible in the morning. I notice a difference if I don't use it for a couple days in a row - mainly regarding the smoothness of my skin, as well as the overall tone, brightness and dry patches, which are pretty much gone when I use the oil on a regular basis. I haven't noticed that it would help with the patches of sun damage I have on my forehead and cheeks, but it is crucial for me with helping to heal blemish scars and left over post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation marks, which thanks to using this oil, take a lot less time to fade. I never noticed it clogging my pores.
Applied to the skin:
I really love this product and would highly recommend it if you're looking to add a new oil to your daily skincare routine. The price of this oil is pretty much unbeatable since you're getting pure 100% rose hip oil. If you have dry skin, you'd probably have to layer it with something else (I have oily skin and also tend to layer it with other products, especially in the winter time).
The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil is available from their official website (where you can also explore their full range of available products) as well as here or here.
