I've realized long ago that liquid lipsticks and my lips don't get along all that well. Despite that I still like trying out new formulas hoping I'll find one that will not feel as drying on my lips. I've purchased two Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stains a while back and it took me awhile to get used to the formula (I generally prefer a lipstick with medium opacity).
Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stains come in a tube with a doe foot applicator and contain 5 ml of product. The tube is transparent so you can distinguish the shade easily and the black lid has minimal branding which I quite like. Doe foot applicator has enough product on it for one application but especially with the darker mauve shade I wish it was a bit smaller, so I could be more precise on the lip edges with it.
These have a nice scent - sweet, sugary vanilla and no discernible taste. The formula is quite creamy and applies evenly with both shades.
The two have different finishes, shade 13 - Marvelous Mauve is a deepened mauve that dries to a true matte finish after less than a minute of being on the lips. This one looks very different on me, depending on how pale or bronzed up I look (depending on the season of the year). In the winter when I use lighter foundations it has a very strong purple undertone, but if I bronze up the skin or use a darker foundation it looks a lot more wearable. This one would look especially nice on someone with a deeper skintone, on me it looks ok-ish, depending on the rest of the makeup I pair it with. This one is opaque with one coat.
The other shade 05 - Infinite Rose is a warm peachy red with the currently on trend metallic/shimmery finish. It isn't completely opaque with one swipe, but builds up without feeling heavy on the lips. Sometimes I apply it on top of 13 Marvelous Mauve and it adds a bit of warmth and makes it more wearable. They last well through eating and don't settle into the lips as quickly as the Liquid Lipstick from Golden Rose and also don't feel as drying.
Both have a very long lasting staying power. After they dry, they stay in place and don't transfer to a drinking glass. They also stay intact when I'm snacking but can fade with full meals. On me personally these start feeling quite drying after about three hours of wear in the winter, but I can wear them longer in the summer when my lips don't get as dry. If your lips are normal these would be quite comfortable in my opinion, but if your lips are dry these aren't the best ones out there (but still worth checking out considering their somewhat reasonable price and formula if you really like a particular shade).
