I recently started watching Cristine from Simply Nailogical on Youtube and was inspired to feature more nail polish reviews, even though these don't even come close to holo polishes she's so into. I have an overwhelming amount of polishes which are yet to be reviewed so I thought I would combine them into somewhat sensible color-combos to get through them faster. To start I grouped the following Essie Nail Polish shades in this post: Mint Candy Apple, Maximillian Strasse Her & Mind Your Mittens.
Essie nail polishes are pretty well know for their extensive shade selection and they always come out with interesting seasonal collections, but these don't always reach us.
The polishes come in a glass bottle with a thicker brush, which makes painting the nails a breeze. There is 13,5 ml of polish inside each bottle. Their formula seems to be pretty consistent across range and I get 5 or more days of wear with their nail polishes (even more if I apply base and top coats).
Mint Candy Apple - pastel mint green cream. Slightly thicker formula and applies uneven in the first coat, so it needs at least two coats, sometimes even three for full opacity. It's a perfect pop of color for the summer and looks really pretty with tanned skin.
Maximillian Strasse Her - pastel grey green cream. similar formula to Mind Your Mittens, where it is almost a one coater, but I applied two, so everything looks evened out and opaque.
Mind Your Mittens - muted navy cream with green undertones. It has a nice formula and one coat covers with almost full opacity, but if you're not very precise with application it will need two coats to even everything out. This one is more of a fall winter color, because it looks almost navy-black in some lightning, but I actually really like wearing darker/vampy shades on my nails year-round.
On all swatches below I applied two coats.
'Mint Candy Apple':
'Maximililan Strasse Her' in direct and indirect lightning, showing different undertones:
'Mind Your Mittens' with white and black backgrounds, where blue-green undertones become more visible.
