The Rouge Coco Shines by Chanel are a line of sheer and comfortably hydrating lipsticks. They have a selection of shades available throughout the year and also add a couple more limited edition versions with each seasonal collection. Like most Chanel products these lipsticks have a mild rose scent which isn't very noticeable when you're applying them or after they're already on the lips. For a sheer lipstick they have a decent stay-time on lips around 3-4 hours, but with such a formula I don't really mind reapplying it during the day. It does transfer to cups when drinking and stays on the lips if you're snacking, but won't survive a meal. My lips tend to get quite dry so I can appreciate a lipstick that doesn't dry out my lips but actually feels somewhat hydrating.
The shade 54 - Boy is a lovely sheer muted peachy pink and it works great with pretty much every look you can imagine - natural with minimal makeup, every day for work or super glam for a night out. It adds a pretty sheen and a sheer wash of color to the lips and is my go-to choice whenever I can't decide on what to wear, especially in the spring and summer time.
I've included swatches in several posts/reviews of other lip products before so you can see some comparisons between them: Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in 477 - Réveuse, NARS Satin Lip Pencil in 'Rikugien', Favourite nude(-ish) lipsticks for Spring (most of my picks here would still be the same for this spring) and Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Cheat.
The formula of Rouge Coco Shines is probably my favourite lipstick formula and Boy comes as my top recommendation if you're looking into buying a Chanel lipstick. In case you prefer matte and opaque finish on your lips this line of lipsticks is probably one you'd want to stay away from, because they're definitely a splurge.
