Depending on the mascara I use I'm generally pretty happy with my lashes so I've rarely experimented with falsies in the past. For any special occasion I sometimes added some individual lashes to enhance the eyes, but I'm pretty new to wearing a full set of false lashes. When the well-known beauty vlogger Fleur de Force came out with her collaboration with Eylure I quickly picked up two sets and today I'll be reviewing her style called 'Fleur Loves'.
'Fleur loves' lashes have a ¾ lash band length. They are designed to add fullness to the outer edge and have a slightly messed up/crossed look with lashes of different lengths. The band of the lashes is really thin and is easily covered with a thin eyeliner on the lash line to look invisible. I've worn them in the daytime and well as for a night out on another occasion and they really enhance the eye. For everyday these look great with just some mascara on the eyes. They help to elongate and open the eye and look beautiful with a smokey eye.
The set includes one pair of lashes and application glue. The lashes are reusable and I've worn mine 4 or 5 times and they still look pretty much as new. Because they're slightly shorter than your usual lashes they are really easy to apply, and you don't have to struggle with the lash band sticking out in the inner corner of the eye. Since they're shorter there's also no need to trim them. They're not too massive, but I can definitely feel them when I'm wearing them (but I think that's just because I'm not used to wearing falsies). The lash glue that comes with them works great and lasts on the eyes for the whole day. When you apply glue to the lash band you need to wait for about 20-30 seconds for it to get slightly tacky. When it's applied from the tube it's white, but it dries to a transparent finish when you apply the lashes. They easily peel off when you want to remove them.
On the photo below I'm only wearing one coat of mascara. With added lashes you can still slightly see the difference between my natural lashes and falsies, but this is only visible in a close-up shot (some eyeliner on the lash line easily fixes this).
False lashes are available in a variety of different styles and different price points. These can easily be used for a number of times as long as you clean the lash band of any glue residue after each use. They look really pretty and fluttery on the eyes, whether you wear them with just a coat of mascara or a heavier makeup look.
This style of Fleur de Force by Eylure lashes in particular sells out often, but it's still available here.
