For fall Chanel released four new Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliners in the shades Ardent, Érable, Feuilles and Pomme de Pin. I picked up two of them, Ardent (limited edition) and Érable.
In the past I've read several reviews that these weren't the best eyeliners out there, but it seems like Chanel improved the formula and made the liners soft and creamy while keeping their lasting power and pigmentation intact. They both glide on to the eyelids or the waterline smoothly, without tugging and don't need more than one swipe for opaque coverage. Similar to the Stylo Eyeshadows from Chanel the formula sets pretty quickly and doesn't tend to smudge or fade, for well over 9+ hours. The lasting power on the waterline is slightly shorter and I can see the color fading in my outer corner after about 4 hours, while the rest stays put for about 6 hours.
The end part of each liner also features a small sharpener so the liner always has a fine tip.
Ardent is a warm shimmering copper. Érable is a shimmering golden taupe with a hint of green thrown into the mix. I like both shades a lot, but I slighlty prefer the Ardent liner and would consider getting a back up if they were more affordable. The color is just stunning and it's a perfect warm shade for fall. I've been wearing them both a lot since I got them in several combinations. One of my favourite combos is wearing both as a gradual liner on both upper and lower lash lines, starting with Érable and transitioning into Ardent in the center and extending to the outer end. Another slightly more impactful look I've tried a couple of times was wearing Ardent all over the lid, along with a bit of Laurier Rose Stylo Eyeshadow and then blending both with Matt Singh and adding Matt Garcia from the Balm's Meet Matt(e) Nude Eyeshadow Palette in the outer corner.
