If you've stopped by any drugstore that carries Catrice in the past week you might have noticed that they've already added a couple of products from the fall collection onto the shelves. There were several interesting items I wanted to get when I first saw the press release, but not all of them were already on display last week so I'll have to make more trips to their stand. One of the items I wanted to get were the Eye'Matic Eyepowder Pens.
I picked up two shades and today I'll be reviewing the 040 Keep Calm and Love This Colour. They come in 6 different colours and are very convenient for applying eyeshadow, since they contain a built-in applicator sponge. It's tip is tapered, allowing precise application, but I still found I needed to use my fingers to blend the product on the edges.
Only after I already bought two, I realized these only contain 0,4 g/0.01 oz of product. The eyeshadow powder is housed inside of the lid. The product has a creamy powder texture and can easily be built up for better colour intensity.
The shade 040 - Keep Calm and Love This Colour is a shimmery golden champagne colour. I used it all over the lid or as an inner eye highlight and really liked the shimmery sheer wash of colour.
The thing that bugs me the most though, is the lasting powder - or lack thereof; since it promises to have a long lasting formulation I first wore it without a primer, which was a mistake, because it creased within one hour. But my lids can be problematic, so I decided to give it another try with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion that usually makes any eyeshadow I apply long wearing - but not this one. Even with a primer it still creased within one hour which was very disappointing even for a more affordable product.
All in all, I love the color but I need to figure out a way to make it last on me. If it had a better lasting power it would be great for travelling since it requires minimal input to work. Have you tried any products from the Catrice Fall collection yet? What are your thoughts so far?
