I mainly stick to neutral colors when it comes to eye make-up, but every once in a while I like to introduce a bit of color. And when is it a better time than in summer to do that? I was looking between different options and colors and settled on the Maybelline Master Drama Chromatic eyeliner in 'Turquoise Vibe'.
It comes in a standard khol liner packaging and needs to be sharpened. The formula promises staying power of up to 16 hours. The liner is very creamy, smooth and glides onto the lids with ease. It's very pigmented and opaque in one swipe.
It comes in three different shades and I picked up the Turquoise Vibe that is just that - a metallic turquoise shade. I was expecting the color to have equal parts of blue and green, like the lid, but on my skin the color looks a lot more blue, without too much green in it.
The color looks pretty intense when you first apply it, but once you add mascara it doesn't look as vivid. It stays on the lids pretty well. There is some fading after 9 hours. Since my lids are (slightly) hooded I was afraid of transfer so I applied some translucent powder to set it and then added a bit more liner to the center of the lid, to intensify it again. Lasting power on the lower line is weaker, around 6 hours. When first applied the liner needs around 1-2 minutes, before it sets and then doesn't really move or smudge.
L-R: one swipe-built up- blended out
On my eyes (I took these after wearing the liner for about 10 hours, so it doesn't look as perfect as freshly applied):
Despite the color not being exactly what I was searching for, I still like it because the formula is really nice. If you have any suggestions on colorful eye liners with similar formulas let me know in the comments.
