Today I'm sharing my favourite products from 2014. This year passed by sooo quickly and I think I can honestly say that it was one of the best years so far. I spent 8 amazing weeks in Northern California (San Francisco area + a short trip to Los Angeles) where I had the opportunity to meet and spend time with some incredible people that will forever remain in my memories (I'll be sharing some of my favourite moments from this year on my Instagram in the following days). Other than that this year was also filled with a lot of beauty discoveries, especially brands that aren't so easily available back at home, which makes me so angry and gives me another excuse to travel more.
My favourite base products in 2014 were:
-bareMinerals Original Foundation - I think I've mentioned this a couple of times before but this is truly my favourite foundation and the only one so far I've decided to repurchase.
-Bourjois CC cream - one of my favourite discoveries of the year was this CC cream, because it acts like a lightweight foundation with a very natural finish. There are only 3 shades available and I was beyond pleased when I found out that the lightest shade doesn't look yellow on me like most of the BB/CC products I've tried so far, but is pretty much a perfect fit for my skin tone.
-Maybelline Age Rewind & Fit me Concealers - I bought the first one at Target and loved it from the first time I've tried it on. I've used it pretty much everyday since and I still have some left, so I definitely recommend you try it out! The Fit me concealer was a miss for me at first because I got it in the wrong shade - 10, but then realized they had a lighter shade - 15, which works surprisingly well. It has nice coverage, but having used the Nars Creamy Concealer and comparing it, it feels like a watered down version - it has less coverage and a more runny texture, but it's still a drugstore gem.
-Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer - This was my first thing on the list when I stopped at Sephora while I was in the States. I was so happy to finally find a perfect match for my skin tone I immediately bought a backup. Too bad they don't sell it in Slovenia.
-Chanel Tisse Rivoli Quad - I got this thanks to my favourite enabler/beauty blogger from The Beauty Lookbook. I love her in depth reviews and anything I've tried from her recommendations I also really liked. You can read more about it in my review.
-Urban Decay's Naked Basics - This is a perfect all-in-one eyeshadow palette. If you pair it with a product like Maybelline Color Tattoo in On and On Bronze (another favorite!), this is really everything you'll ever need, but since I'm somewhat of a hoarder I can't follow that rule. It features 5 matte eyeshadow and a shimmery highlighter shade.
-Anastasia Brow Wiz - I've been trying a lot of different priced eyebrow products in the past months and this is hands down the best. I find that any brow-related product that comes without a spoolie brush is useless, plus it's really hard to find a brow product if they're naturally blond and you don't want to make them 5 shades darker.
-Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner (review) - I'm pretty new to using a liquid eyeliner so I was really excited when I started using this one since it's so easy to use. I've had it for a while now and the felt tip still hasn't dried out, which is another plus.
-217 Jessup Blending Brush - I got this brush from Ebay and it was a total game changer! It makes blending so easy and I've already bought a back up, since it's so affordable.
-Max Factor 2000 Calories Mascara - I've started using this mascara back in high school, when I was used to buying a different mascara each time I used up one of them, but this one surprised me, because it's such a great all-in-one mascara and layers on without clumping.
Base make up upgraded:
-Charlotte Tilbury's Filmstar Bronze&Glow (review) - I got this because of all the hype online and it really is great. I don't wear bronzer everyday, but when I do, this is what I would use 90% of the time. And as you can see I casually dropped it on the floor the other day and thankfully only the highlighter experienced some damage. I, on the other hand, almost had a heart attack!
-Hourglass Ambient Lightning Blush Palette (review) - I'm not a huge blush person - my real weakness are eyeshadow palettes - but I couldn't pass on not getting this limited edition palette. It looks so gorgeous in the pan and sooo pretty on the cheeks.
-RealTechniques Blush Brush - one of my favourite brushes this year. Lately I've been using it for applying blush, but in the past I've also used it for powder to set my makeup.
-Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Boy - this is such a flattering sheer shade of lipstick. It is hydrating and has a soft rose scent, but doesn't have the best staying power.
-Essence Lip Liner in In the Nude - a very pretty lip liner color, that looks almost like my real lips, so it's easily used for cheating and adding some more volume to them.
-Essie nail polish in Mademoiselle - this is such a perfect pinky nude color! It needs 2-3 coats and looks very flattering on my skin tone. I also really like the formula of these polishes and look forward to trying even more colors in 2015 - they're coming out with a line of matte polishes and I'm super excited for that.
-Paula's Choice Exfoliating Solution - a life changing product for my skin. I've been using it in my night time skin care routine and it has made a huge difference. Now that my skin is looking somewhat normal again I'm not using it daily anymore. This helps with reducing/removing blackheads, reducing pores, fights redness and works as a chemical exfoliant.
-Mixa Balancing Cream (review)- this has been my go-to daily moisturizer. The only improvement it would need is added SPF, so I wouldn't have to use two different products when I don't feel like wearing foundation.
-Bioderma Micelle Water - another holy grail product I've repurchased multiple times already. It works great for removing all make up, even waterproof, but since it's pretty pricey, I'd love to try something more affordable - leave a comment if you have any suggestions.
-The Body Shop Chocolate Body Butter - my go to body butter lately. I'm dreading the day I run out of it, because I didn't see it on the shelves when I was at The Body Shop last month. It legit smells like chocolate and leaves the skin so soft.
-Nivea Soft Cream - this is a very light weight cream that I keep next to my computer and use it mainly as a hand cream.
-Bumble and Bumble Pret-a-powder - one of my favourite dry shampoos, but I hated that this was so hard to get out of the bottle, so I tried making the hole a bit bigger and now it almost disposes too much product, yikes.
-Uniq One Leave in Conditioner/Treatment - I've bought this because my hairstylist recommended it to me and have been using it for the past three years.
-Kenzo Amour Eau de Parfum - about a year ago I found a sample of this when I was cleaning my stash and fell completely in love with the scent. It is a perfect blend of floral and woody scents and I haven't become tired of it, like I usually do with perfumes.
-Scholl Foot Balm - another long time favourite. I keep repurchasing this product because the formula feels very light (not greasy), yet it works like a little miracle. I always take this with me if I travel and I know I will be walking a lot, because it soothes tired feet and cures any blisters.
***Honorable mention also goes to (I forgot to include these when I was taking photos):
-Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate (Night Facial Oil) - I bought this at Nordstrom and was hesitant to use it at first, since my skin is oily, but this is perfect as a nightly treatment. Since it's pretty pricey I only use this on weekends to provide some more care for my skin and the difference it makes is visible. When I wake up in the morning my skin has less redness (including the redness from blemishes). I only need 3 or 4 drops for the whole face so this should last me a while.
-Lush Mask of Magnaminty - this has been my favourite blemish fighting mask. I love the refreshing minty scent and small exfoliating particles it has inside.
-Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm (review) - my favourite night treatment for the lips. Because of the thick texture I don't usually use this during the day, but since it's been super cold lately I've used it during the day as well and my lips had no complaints. :)

Happy New Year!
