Acne Studios

Besides doing damage at the Balenciaga shop at Galeries Lafayette I also stopped at the Acne Boutique in Paris. It's location is actually a bit hard to find, but it's next to the Stella McCartney store.

I bought the Acne 'Lina' sweater in bright blue with some purple undertones. It's made of wool and very warm, so not appropriate for other times than in winter.

The next purchase is kind of obvious if you visit an Acne store - the 'Pistol' boots. I wanted to get the ones with contrasting brown soles, but they didn't have them in stock, so I bought the all-black version.

Balenciaga City

As promised in my last post, it's time for a first reveal from my shopping expedition in Paris. I was on a mission to buy a new everyday bag and was toying with some ideas in my head and I decided to buy a Balenciaga City at Galeries Lafayette (which is almost like a handbag heaven!).

I went with a 'classic' black color with regular hardware. The bag is perfect for everyday and looks so cool and chic. I've been wearing it a lot since I've bought it, so I definitely don't regret it one bit, and it still looks as new, except for the worn-in squishy look.

Last day in Paris

The poppy carpet at the hotel.

Yummy lunch after a lot of shopping - check back in the following days to see some reveals ;).

Terminator detail.

The best chocolate soufflé I've had in my life.

Oh, and look what was hiding behind the corner close to the restaurant - Christian Louboutin Store. Off course I had to go inside, but unfortunately couldn't find the shoes I was looking for, and there also wasn't enough time left to go to his other boutiques in Paris, so my dream pair of Loubi shoes are still on my wish list.

La Tour Eiffel

The Musée de l'Armée (Army Museum) is a national military museum of France located at Les Invalides. The museum itself is not very special in my opinion but it has a very nice garden outside.

Next stop was The Eiffel Tower which is one of the most famous and recognizable monuments and representations of Paris (& France) in the world. It was built in 1889 and is 324 metres tall. When you buy your ticket for the entrance you can choose between walking up the stairs or taking the lift. And let me tell you that walking all the way up can be a pretty good work out so avoid it in the summer heat, but it might still be worth it for the magnificent view from the top.

Notre Dame

The Notre Dame cathedral in Paris is one of the most beautiful examples of the gothic style of architecture. It was finished in the beginning of the 14th century and is still preserved amazingly well, despite multiple vandalisms and alternations through the history.

*Tip*: There's always a bunch of tourists waiting to get in at various Paris attractions so make sure you're there early, so you don't have to wait in long lines. That way you also save time for stylish long Parisian lunching and some afterwards shopping ;).

Montmartre & Sacré-Coeur

Our first day in Paris was about visiting some Paris landmarks like The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris which is located in the Montmartre area that is also know for various artists gatherings and the Père Lachaise Cemetery, where, among others, Jim Morrison of The Doors is also buried.

Black Pumps

I'm guilty of going on a shopping spree. Be amazed by this beautiful pair of black suede pumps with exquisite leather knots on the heel by Alexander McQueen.

They were a sale purchase but still quite expensive, since there's not many occasions I can/will actually wear them, because I don't really wear heels and don't have a 'dressy' lifestyle.
