Proenza Schouler Fall/Winter 2013

Proenza Schouler presented another wonderful collection. Each year they try to come up with new interesting patterns, textures and combine materials what results in very inspiring and interesting clothes. They still love tweed and for winter they came up with amazing wool jackets and coats that are already on my wish list. This year Jack and Lazaro didn't include any new handbags but just recreated the well know PS13 clutch and the Lunch bag in ostrich in different colors. I also loved the simple shoes with a little bow that look really cute and almost not appropriate for winter, unless you live somewhere like Los Angeles where's no snow.

NYFW - Alexander Wang

I wanted to post about this collection right after the show itself was streamed on the internet, but I had some other more important work before I could do that so this post is a little late.

Anyways, Alexander Wang presented one of his most grown-up collections yet and I think I can honestly say that he's ready for Balenciaga in Paris in about two weeks.
This Fall/Winter 2013 collection will probably be reminded by the red pony-tails all the models had, but some of the most interesting designs were also fur boxing-gloves, wool coats with leather parts and silk t-shirts with shoulder cut-offs.
One of the things I'm undecided about was the triple-bag made from different materials (leather and calf hair, I think), but I absolutely fell in love with the simple black pumps without the inner part at the ankle. A must!

New York Fashion Week - Jason Wu

Jason Wu has become one of my favorite New York-based designers. His clothes are so feminine with a hint of sexy, like he know what woman really want when they want to dress up. The details are stunning and material/color combinations make me speechless (that styling of a white dress with the snake-skin leather jacket is to die for, in my opinion). You did well, Mr. Wu.

Proenza Schouler, Rag&Bone and Reed Krakoff Pre-fall 2013

Proenza Schouler amaze me with their every collection. If it's not about the accessories, it's about their special textures and patterns, their jackets or just everything all together. For pre-fall they went with the over-sized look in jackets and printed pants and skirts. Colors are basic - white, black and blue and work together very well and fashionable.

Rag&Bone is another go-to label for some instant cool & street update, but for pre-fall the are staying very basic with casual cuts and tailoring.

Reed Krakoff is also becoming one of the 'it' New York labels, especially because of their highly successful handbag lines, for example the Boxer bag. I love the coat from the first photo and the leather dress on the second and hope to add it or something similar to my collection for the fall season.

T by Alexander Wang, McQ Alexander McQueen & Givenchy Pre-fall 2013

I hope you weren't thinking I'll go without mentioning T by Alexander Wang that is like the coolest down-town chic brand for casual and semi-casual days (which means most of my days, actually). Also when he included Nadja Bender as the model for pre-fall I couldn't help myself but think this is probably the most perfect combination, ever.

McQ is a more affordable collection from the main Alexander McQueen line and they share a similar aesthetic and tailoring, but since the main line is more premium it is of course also of greater quality. Well, I can't really speak for the clothes but comparing my few scarves from both brands just proves my theory.
I love it that burgundy will be staying for another season as one of the main colors and leather isn't going anywhere.

I've been in love with Givenchy's clothes for the past few seasons because they offer just the right amount of edgy style combined with street-cool, but the price tag seems a bit high, so no Givenchy in my closet so far. I really like their handbags though, so this might be my first step into experiencing this brand first-hand.

The day after.

We started out day with a visit to Starbucks.

I was wearing my Alexander McQueen silk scarf but it got pretty hot during the day so I had to take it off. I was also carrying my Mulberry Bayswater bag and since there are quite a few designer shops in Vienna I also made a little purchase that I will share with you sometime soon.

Then we had a little walk around Vienna and visited the St. Stephen's cathedral in the centre.

Then we decided to have a little 'snack' - the famous Sacher cake at the Sacher hotel.

 Lunch time - pizza:

And a random Coca-cola truck :P
